OUTDOOR WOOD-BURNING BOILERS - NJ DEP COMPLIANCE ADVISORY WARNING
While the sale and installation of these units is legal, the strict NJDEP regulations make it very difficult to operate them while maintaining compliance. The regulation mandates that these units produce no smoke except for 3 minutes in any 30 minute period.
Outdoor wood-burning boilers in New Jersey must comply with NJAC 7:27-3, “Control and Prohibition of Smoke from Combustion of Fuel.” You can find the website for these regulations on your computer by going onto the internet and typing in NJAC 7:27-3. The document is 5 pages in length.

CABLE ADVISORY UPDATE
The Township would like to remind you that in 2009, the federal government will no longer allow analog channels, and broadcasting will be exclusively in digital format. Your options at that time are to buy a digital-to-analog converter to use with your analog TV, buy a new digital TV, or subscribe to cable or another video service provider. If your decision is to purchase a digital converter to use with your current TV, you may want to access www.dtv2009.gov for information on the federal program, which provides $40 coupons towards the purchase of the converter (which cost between $40 – 70 per unit). Coupon supplies are limited, and they expire 90 days after they are mailed. You may also call 1-888-388-2009 for details. Act quickly to take advantage of this federally funded program.
**** UPDATE: The Township Committee has finalized an agreement with Comcast for cable services, and an ordinance for consent agreement was adopted in December 2008. If the public is interested, they should look at the July 17, 2008, Township Committee minutes to see issues discussed with Comcast representatives about service and look at the December 11, 2008 Township Committee minutes to read the full ordinance. If you have any questions about service, you may call Comcast Representatives Bob Clifton at 732-281-3704 or Bill Shelley at 732-652-2750. The same set of minutes has updated information from Verizon on FiOS availability in East Amwell in the 466 area code only. The contact for Verizon is Anna Lustenberg at 609:771-0035.
