V. REPORTS
A. Youth Report – M. Ammann informed members that the Recycling/Environmental Tip of the Day was instituted today for the first time at the East Amwell Township School Closed Circuit Television Network. Mr. C. Colt (teacher) pulled some informational items from the internet for this purpose. They hope to do this feature on a weekly basis.
B. Depot Report - W. Harrison distributed his January 2008 Depot Day Report. Approximately 186 vehicles were serviced. Paper dumpster was 2/3 full and glass/plastic one was ˝ full. W. Harrison informed members that a note was distributed to all who attended concerning that fact that it is now not necessary to bundle paper. Battery drum is nearly full and will have to be taken to the March Hunterdon County Hazardous Waste Day. One very full bag of bottles was collected for Terracycle. More bags are needed. Volunteers were overwhelmed with the turnout of electronic devices. (see Old Business for full report) W. Harrison reported that paper recycling at the Municipal Building does not seem to be working – very little was collected. Refreshments - $8.55.
W. Harrison called for volunteer Depot Leaders for the coming months. K. Martin volunteered for February and September, M. Dessel for March and D. Tangtrakul for April. Once again, W. Harrison volunteered for July, and he stated that he will be available in February to assist K. Martin, since this will be her first experience as a Depot Leader.
C. Environmental Commission Report - Secretary stated that the Environmental Commission does not hold a meeting in December. Thus, no report was received.
D. Township Committee Report – T. Martin stated that he had nothing new to report from the Township Committee.
E. Internet Recycling Prices - K. Schroeder has resigned as a member. K. Martin volunteered to research this topic on the internet and provide a report for the Committee.
F. SWAC Report – W. Harrison stated that SWAC did not meet in December 2007 and he doubts if there will be a meeting in January 2008.
VI. OLD BUSINESS
A. Electronic Recycling at January 2008 Depot Day – Update – W. Harrison reported that they were overwhelmed with the turnout of residents bringing in their electronic devices. Blaine Hummel’s expertise in packing and organizing the collected items was invaluable and all the other volunteers worked wonderfully well together making the electronics recycling day a terrific success. Many residents brought items and stayed to help when they saw how busy it was. Thank you to all of them.
W. Harrison informed members that because they received many more items than would fit into

the 20 yd. dumpster, he had to order another dumpster, plus labor to load the items left on the ground by our volunteers. Anticipated charges from Supreme Asset Management and Recovery are as follows: $500 for 20 yd. dumpster, $950 for 40 yd. dumpster, $200 for 2 laborers to load items. He also informed members that there are leftover funds from the 2007 Clean Communities Grant Fund, and these funds will probably be used to pay this bill.
Members discussed holding future electronic clean-up events along with other possibilities, such as having the Good Will Industries truck available at a Depot Day. M. Dessel suggested keeping
residents informed well in advance, so that they could plan ahead - a note in the July tax bill mailing might be a possibility. T. Martin suggested using the Newsletter to keep residents informed. G. Miller suggested holding another Electronics Recycling in the Fall of 2008. Secretary stated that
Hunterdon County will be holding an Electronic Recycling Day on March 29 as well as another one on September 27. W. Harrison reminded members about the changes due in the near future concerning analog televisions.
