A special meeting of the East Amwell Township Committee came to order at 7:15 P.M.   Present at this meeting were Mayor Larry Tatsch, and Committee members, Patricia Cregar, Peter Kneski, and Timothy Martin. Deputy Mayor Linda Lenox joined the meeting at 7:17 P.M.

In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, a copy of notice of this meeting was filed in the Clerk’s Office, posted on the bulletin board, and sent to the Hunterdon County Democrat, Times of Trenton, and Star Ledger on May 5, 2008.  The purpose of this meeting is to interview a candidate for the Recreation Committee.  The public is invited to attend and comment. Action may or may not be taken.

Robert Mulcahy was the candidate to be interviewed for the position on the Recreation Committee.

Mayor Tatsch said he understood Mr. Mulcahy had already had an introduction to what the Recreation Committee is all about.  The Mayor asked Mr. Mulcahy to give the Township Committee a little background about himself and what his particular interests were with regard to the appointment.

Mr. Mulcahy stated he had attended the April 28, 2008 meeting of the Recreation Committee.  He stated he had been contemplating joining the Recreation Committee for a while, and had always had a few friends on the Committee.  Mr. Mulcahy said he has been actively coaching the South County Soccer League and the Amwell Valley Baseball League.  His wife is extremely active in activities in the town, and he now has more time to be involved, since his son is a little older.  He is very interested in the sporting end of the Recreation Committee.  Mr. Mulcahy said he has a Civil Engineering degree from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia University.  He had worked for about 15 years in investment banking, and eight of those years were in Tokyo.  Now they have a lovely horse farm in East Amwell, and have lived here for twelve years.

The Mayor stated the Recreation Committee has some fantastic volunteers. They have expanded their interests and are involved in musical and theatrical productions at Clawson Park.

Mr. Mulcahy said he was very impressed with the Recreation Committee members when he attended the April 28th meeting.  They were very organized and accepted responsibility.

Mayor Tatsch asked the Township Committee if they had any questions for Mr. Mulcahy.  No one had any questions. He then asked if Mr. Mulcahy had any questions for the Committee.

Mr. Mulcahy said he can be counted on to attend meetings.

Mayor Tatsch thanked Mr. Mulcahy for expressing interest in the Recreation Committee and coming out for the interview.

Motion to adjourn the special meeting at 7:23 p.m. was made by Mr. Martin and seconded by Mr. Kneski.  All in favor.
