Greetings and welcome to East Amwell Township’s website! We hope that you will find our site useful to answer any questions you may have about our Township.
Some things you might like to know!
East Amwell Township is a mostly rural undisturbed municipality located in Hunterdon County, NJ.
Research will reveal that we are approximately 26 square miles but with only 4500 residents. As such, local government remains small in East Amwell Township both in terms of need and in keeping local property taxes low.
As the Township Administrator, I am charged with oversight of the day to day operations of the Township, a responsibility I take seriously and consider to be an honor.
I am especially proud of our employee staff. If you visit our office, I am sure you will immediately notice two things. The first is that we have minimal staff, and the second is the professional and helpful atmosphere that the staff creates.
Please keep in mind that many staff members are part-time employees (me included!). The few full-time employees generally function in multiple part-time positions. Our professionals, Twp. Engineer, Twp. Attorney etc. are outside contractors. Nevertheless, the staff responds quickly to most questions and issues.
It is also important to note that East Amwell relies heavily on a volunteer base to accomplish many important and required tasks. The volunteers of East Amwell are second to none in their dedication and professional expertise.
