The Housing Office is open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to answer your questions about all of the Township's Affordable Housing Programs. Call us at 908-782-8536 ext. 19 for information about any of the following opportunities or to check and see what’s new. Most programs require financial eligibility. Income guidelines are printed below.

NOTICE OF AMENDED FAIRNESS AND COMPLIANCE HEARING
FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF EAST AMWELL, HUNTERDON COUNTY TO APPROVE THE TOWNSHIP’S HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on January 12, 2021, beginning at 2:00 P.M., there will be an Amended Fairness and Compliance Compliance Hearing ("Hearing") before the Honorable Thomas C. Miller, P.J.Cv., at the Somerset County Courthouse, 20 North Bridge Street, Somerville, New Jersey 08876. Please note that this hearing was rescheduled from November 23, 2020.
Please note that if the Courthouse is still closed at that time, the hearing may take place via telephone or video conference. Information about courtroom closings are available at njcourts.gov. Interested parties should contact Tara St. Angelo, Esq. at tstangelo@gklegal.com at least 48 hours in advance of the hearing to determine how they can participate.
The purpose of the combined Fairness and Compliance Hearing is for the Court to (1) determine whether the proposed amendments to the Settlement Agreement between the Township of East Amwell (the “Township”), and Fair Share Housing Center (“FSHC”) are fair and reasonable to the region’s low and moderate income households according to the principles set forth in Morris Cty. Fair Housing Council v. Boonton Twp., 197 N.J. Super. 359 (Law Div. 1984) and East / West Venture v. Bor. of Fort Lee, 286 N.J. Super. 311 (App. Div. 1996); and (2) review and approve the Township’s Amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan, including implementing ordinances and Spending Plan (hereinafter the “Affordable Housing Plan”), as meeting the Township’s obligation to provide a realistic opportunity to satisfy its rehabilitation, Prior Round and Third Round “fair share” of the regional need for housing affordable to low income and moderate income households pursuant to the Fair Housing Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-301, et seq., the substantive, applicable regulations of the New Jersey Council on Affordable Housing (“COAH”), the New Jersey Supreme Court’s March 10, 2015 decision in the matter of In re N.J.A.C. 5:96 & N.J.A.C. 5:97, 221 N.J. 1 (2015) and other applicable laws.
To facilitate this procedure, the Township has presented to the Court, and placed on file with the Township Clerk, a copy of the Amended Affordable Housing Plan and various other related documents:
